The Return Of the 90s

The 90s are coming back and in full force. Whether it is in beauty or fashion, the 90s trends are everywhere and I am here for it. Here are 5 fabulous trends in beauty and fashion that originate from the 90s. Grab your push pops and Brittany Spears CDs because I am taking you back in time!

1. Mini Buns

Mini buns were made popular by Gwen Stefani back in the 90s and can now be seen on many celebrities like Cara Delevingne, and Miley Cyrus. They've definitely evolved a bit since the 90s, as you can see from these two photos. The way Gwen is wearing them is definitely more outlandish, as she has quite a few of them on her head, while the modern look is only slightly quirky with two even buns. They are definitely a cute and quirky hairstyle and a great addition to any outfit!

2. Hair Flowers

Hair flowers were a popular way of adorning your hair back in the day. While they were more about the flower hair clips in the 90s, this trend has reinvented itself in the form of flower crowns. Flowers are a timeless addition to any hairstyle!

3. Denim Skirts

Denim skirts were a staple piece in any wardrobe in the 90s! What is so great about denim skirts is you can mold them to whatever style you prefer. Whether that is grunge, boho, or retro! As you can see from that throwback photo of Winona Ryder, she paired her denim skirt with a black tee and leather jacket which gives off a very grunge vibe.

4. Scrunchies

Scrunchies are back from the 90s vault and are on every high school girls wrist! Every sitcom starlet can be seen wearing one of these bad boys. To Phoebe from Friends, to the Tanner sisters from Full House, to the ladies from Saved By The Bell. Scrunchies are just as relevant now as they were in the 90s, and with good reason. This hair accessory is so comfortable, and they come in any color or pattern you can imagine! Don't be afraid to succumb to this trend, your hair will thank you.

5. Crop Tops

Modeled by the queen of the 90s herself, Christina Aguilera, crop tops were a fashion staple in the 90s. Paired with some super low rise jeans, this outfit is the epitome of 90s fashion. Crop tops are back and have been for some time now, but they are reinvented to look more modern. These days they are usually paired with high waisted bottoms, or a maxi skirt. Crop tops are very versatile so they can be paired with pretty much anything and still look fabulous!

With many trends from decades past being recycled, it goes to show you that fashion and the beauty industry use the past to reinvent the future.
